The Hotel Interiors Experience (HIX) 2024 was a fantastic showcase of creativity, innovation, and industry trends. This year’s event was an opportunity for the ABDA Design team to immerse themselves in new ideas, network with suppliers, and discover fresh inspiration to bring back to their projects.

What were the highlights for the team?

For Michael and Claire, the Ege Carpets hotel concept experience was a personal favourite. The exhibit featured four hotel designs with round carpets, each representing a vision of the future of hospitality. Claire found the focus on wellness particularly inspiring. Sam and Anabel found it beneficial being able to meet suppliers and experience products and textures in person as it’s one thing to see them digitally, but handling materials first-hand brought these to life.

Tansin loved seeing lots of patterns and prints, particularly those showcased by ILIV and Romo as they had a lot of narrative and storytelling within the designs. She also enjoyed meeting Knot My Name and learning about their bespoke macramé tapestries. The Romo stand also received high praise from Richard for its attractive setup and impressive new product range.

Arte’s refined and high-end wall coverings were a standout for Kate who loved their timeless designs. Cole and Son’s wallpaper collection made a lasting impression on Melissa as their stand was both effective and visually appealing, showcasing their unique, high-end designs beautifully.
