Restaurant Hono is a stunning new concept developed by our design team, named and based on the idea of connection and unity. Inspired by Polynesian culture, the restaurant spans three memorable floors, each representing a distinct natural element: Ahi (fire), Kai (sea), and Rangi (sky).
Guests begin their journey on the ground floor (Ahi) with earthy tones, open-fire cooking, and a striking bar. The first floor (Kai) offers a rich, interactive dining experience with a show kitchen and private dining spaces, while the top floor (Rangi) opens to a terrace with covered seating, skyline views, flora, and carved wood detailing to create a true spirit of nature.
Each level is connected by a central lobby and staircase, guiding guests through an immersive experience where the interior reflects and strengthens the story. Traditional art forms such as tatau (tattooing), wood carving, and tapa cloths are built into the design, representing storytelling, identity, and a connection to land and sea. Nature is central to Polynesian life so native plants and symbolic animals, like the honu (sea turtle), mano (shark) and gecko (mo‘o) are woven into the design to reflect themes of resilience, navigation, and guardianship.
Together, these design elements create a narrative of identity, spirituality, and the deep bond between people, the land and the ocean.
